FAQ about Custom Self Seal Poly Bag
1. What materials are self seal poly bags made of?
We offer two premium material options for flexible selection:
(1) Compostable biodegradable material:
Made from plant-based materials such as PLA (polylactic acid) and PBAT (polybutylene adipate terephthalate), rather than traditional petroleum-based plastics. These natural components allow the material to be 100% compostable and fully biodegradable.
(2) Polyethylene (PE) material:
Produced using LDPE, one of the most widely used and well-established materials in the packaging industry. It offers excellent flexibility, puncture resistance, and strong sealing performance, making it a reliable choice for shipping packaging.
2.What’s the difference between compostable self-seal poly bags and regular self-seal poly bags?
(1) Compostable self-seal poly bags fully break down and are more environmentally friendly. While their unit price is slightly higher than regular plastic bags, they offer greater brand value and appeal to eco-conscious customers.
(2)Regular self-seal poly bags are more cost-effective and recyclable, but they cannot fully biodegrade.
3. What’s the difference between Self Seal Poly Bags and poly mailers?
(1) Self Seal Poly Bags are transparent (or frosted) resealable bags that can be reused. They are designed for inner packaging and are often used together with polyethylene mailers or shipping cartons to keep products clean, protected, and neatly separated during transit.
(2) Poly mailers (polyethylene mailers) are designed for shipping and outer packaging. They are durable, waterproof, tear-resistant, lightweight, and space-saving. Unlike self seal poly bags, they are single-use and intended for direct delivery.
4. What certifications do the compostable Self Seal Poly Bags have?
Our compostable self seal poly bags are certified by TÜV Austria OK Compost HOME & INDUSTRIAL, BPI (ASTM D6400), and DIN CERTCO (EN 13432).
5. How are self seal poly bags closed?
Self seal poly bags feature a self-sealing adhesive closure that makes packaging quick and easy. Simply peel off the protective strip and press the flap closed.
6. What type of adhesive is used for Self Seal Poly Bags?
(1)Removable adhesive: Provides moderate stickiness and can be repeatedly applied. When peeled off, it leaves little to no residue. Ideal for situations where bags need to be opened, inspected, or reused multiple times. It’s easy to operate and won’t damage the bag.
(2)Permanent self-adhesive closure: Uses a strong, tamper-evident adhesive. Once sealed, the closure is tight and secure. If forcibly opened, the bag will be noticeably damaged and cannot be resealed, providing reliable protection for safe shipping, anti-tampering, theft prevention, and storage.
